چکیده

Among the possible ionic crosslinkers Ca2+ is most widely used. However, due to its numerous physiological functions, other cations such as Sr2+ may be more suitable depending on application. Because a systematic comparison currently lacking, this work aims compare solutions of CaCl2 and SrCl2 alginate- cellulose-based materials investigate their effects structural biological properties 3D bioprinted scaffolds. In particular, swelling degradation under cell culture conditions, mechanical (with quasi-static compression tests), surface topology scanning electron microscopy atomic force microscopy) elemental composition were investigated. addition, cytotoxicity pancreatic islet cells was assessed by measuring viability, metabolic activity morphology. The obtained results show that Sr2+-crosslinked scaffolds have higher compressive strength, swell faster degrade slowly conditions rougher surface. 3D bioprinting for tissue engineering: Stem cells in hydrogels

Surgical limitations require alternative methods of repairing and replacing diseased and damaged tissue. Regenerative medicine is a growing area of research with engineered tissues already being used successfully in patients. However, the demand for such tissues greatly outweighs the supply and a fast and accurate method of production is still

3D Bioprinting Technologies for Hard Tissue and Organ Engineering

Hard tissues and organs, including the bones, teeth and cartilage, are the most extensively exploited and rapidly developed areas in regenerative medicine field. One prominent character of hard tissues and organs is that their extracellular matrices mineralize to withstand weight and pressure. Over the last two decades, a wide variety of 3D printing technologies have been adapted to hard tissue...

Use of Polysaccharide Hydrogels in Drug Delivery and Tissue Engineering

Present review article aims to explain use of injectable hydrogels and microspheres derived from natural polysaccharides as drug delivery systems and cell scaffolds. Polysaccharides isolated from natural sources are proved much better than synthetic polymers for making single and composite hydrogels. This paper emphasizes recent developments occurred in use of amphiphilic polysaccharides for bi...

Cellular Encapsulation in 3D Hydrogels for Tissue Engineering

The 3D encapsulation of cells within hydrogels represents an increasingly important and popular technique for culturing cells and towards the development of constructs for tissue engineering. This environment better mimics what cells observe in vivo, compared to standard tissue culture, due to the tissue-like properties and 3D environment. Synthetic polymeric hydrogels are water-swollen network...
